Coronavirus Update

I have contacted everyone with a July and August booking today – please look out for an email in your inbox.

Further to our update on 20th April below, we have made the difficult decision to stop taking provisional bookings, as the situation is so unclear as to when parks may re-open.

We have contacted guests with a booking up to the end of June, and are now waiting for guidance on the safe re-opening when the time comes.  There will undoubtedly be restrictions we must follow regarding social distancing and we aren’t sure whether shared facilities will be able to open at all.  As soon as we know more, we will update again.

If you would like to get in touch about your booking, please send an email to

Our booking system is open for 2021.

Best Wishes to you all.

We would like to share with you a parliamentary discussion which took place this morning and was televised on

The Director General of our holiday association (BH&HPA) has spoken about the safe re-opening of holiday parks. The BH&HPA have been working tirelessly since March on behalf of us and many holiday parks like ours. We have been lobbying our local MP and the Tourism minister, and we have even learned to Tweet!

This week we have supported the BH&HPA’s recommendation to government, to bring forward the re-opening of parks from July to next month, initially for our guests who own a holiday caravan at Little Trevothan, and also seasonal tourers who are able to be self-sufficient with their own facilities, then onto a staged re-opening for holiday makers in our caravans,
for tourers and for campers.

We are looking forward to receiving the guidance being drawn up by the association for this safe and staggered re-opening, and will implement this strictly when the time comes.

Ros Pritchard OBE’s interview begins at 11:31, and the other guests include directors of National Trust, Association of Leading Visitor Attractions, National Coastal Community Tourism
and Visit Britain.

Thank you as always for your support, All at Little Trevothan

Now we know we will be closed until at least 4th July, this is just a quick update to say we have now contacted everyone with a May booking. Thank you for postponing your holiday.
We sincerely appreciate your support at this challenging time.
From Monday we will be contacting all of you with a booking from 1st June to 4th July to discuss the options. This may take us a while, so if you would like to
get in touch to move your booking, please email us at or give us a call on 01326 280260.
We understand that government task forces have been set up to look at how businesses within phase 3 will be able to re-open safely, and what restrictions may be imposed.
As soon as we know more, we will update here and on our website.
Take care, from all at Little Trevothan

Following the Government’s conditional plan issued yesterday, it appears that hospitality (accommodation) falls in phase 3 of the re-opening strategy.
This means we are required to postpone our park’s opening date to 4th July.
This week we are contacting customers who have a booking due to start this month, and will start to look at June bookings as soon as we can.
The British Holiday and Home Parks Association (BH&HPA) of which we are members, are developing a guidance document for the re-opening of holiday and touring parks,
to include the
COVID-19 guidelines for workplaces anticipated from the Government today. The safety of our customers and family team is of the utmost importance to us,
and this document will enable us to plan for a safe re-opening when the time comes.
Thank you to those customers who are able to postpone their holiday, which can be taken up to the end of 2021. Do get in touch if we can arrange this for you.
Keep safe and we will be in touch soon.

Firstly, thank you for your kind messages of support for Little Trevothan at this time.  We all really appreciate it.

Our holiday park remains closed, and we await further news from the Prime Minister next week as to how and when restrictions will start to be lifted.

Following the announcement, if we are to remain closed, we will get in touch with those of you who have a booking during that next period to discuss the options available to you.

The economic impact of this crisis on seasonal tourism is proving to be extremely challenging for rural and coastal communities, and we would sincerely like to thank our customers who have chosen to postpone their holiday or accept a credit note for a future stay up to the end of 2021.  We are participating in the national campaign to not cancel but to Postpone holidays, and we are doing everything we can to protect tourism jobs and look forward to welcoming you in the future.

We have closed our booking system for any new bookings this year due to Coronavirus. We are constantly monitoring the situation and will update this as soon as we have clearer guidance on when we may re-open our park.
If you would like to make a provisional booking, please get in touch on 01326 280260, and we can arrange this with no deposit to pay at this time.
Our booking system is open for all 2021 bookings.

UPDATE 8 APRIL 2020 at 09:44

The Coronavirus continues to affect the lives of us all, and as we continue to follow the direction provided by the Government, it is now clear we need to remain closed for a longer period of time. We have therefore temporarily extended the closure of our park until Thursday 14th May 2020.

.This, we are sure you understand, is totally beyond our control, and we are really sorry for the disappointment caused to anyone who has been looking forward to their holiday.

We know you will want to know how this affects your planned holiday at Little Trevothan, your deposits and balances already paid.

Please rest assured that all monies paid for stays during our period of closure, will be transferred to future bookings.

Understandably, we have many guests wishing to transfer their bookings. As we are a small team, we will be working through our bookings in chronological order, and contacting all our guests to offer them the opportunity to transfer their booking to a later date.

In the first instance we will be contacting guests who have arrival dates during the current proposed lockdown period up to 14th May. Obviously, if the period of lockdown is extended further, then we will contact guests up to the new ‘release’ date and so on.

We are requesting that guests with bookings beyond these dates wait for further developments, as they will still be able to stay, if we have re-opened.

In the interim we have closed our booking system up to 1st July, until we have clearer guidance on when we may re-open. We have also placed a temporary stop on all balance payment reminders for 2020 bookings made through our website and directly with us.

In the meantime, unless absolutely necessary, please stay at home, stay safe and look after each other. If we all work together we can get through this and return to normal life, to enjoy the freedom we had before.

We would like to thank you all for your understanding and support at this time, and we look forward to welcoming you back to Little Trevothan as soon as the situation allows.

Wishing you all good health until we see you again, from all the Little Trevothan family.
